Stoked on Socks?
How many of you guys are stoked to have sweet cycling specific (or not cycling specific, but just sweet) socks?
I personally think its an awesome way to add a bit of personality to your kit and distinguish your style from everyone else without going too crazy. My current favorites are the Christmas/Holiday socks from SockGuy: Sock Guy Men's Socks What are some of your favorites? |
I love socks.

I'll admit it; I'm a sock "ho-wah". My favorite cycling-specific sock (currently) is the DeFeet Woolie Boolie. Nice and warm, comfortable, fit well - what's not to like?During the summer I like a number of socks, mostly also from DeFeet, but I haven't decided on a favorite. For everyday use, I like a number of light hiking socks from various manufacturers, e.g., Wigwam, SmartWool, Thorlo, etc.

Sock Guy is a local here. He wears a Sock Guy kit. Nice guy.

My team socks have been Defeet for the last couple seasons. Love them. We're switching to Castelli this year. Hope they are as good.

I like the Louis Garneau Team Socks in black from Performance.

I wish my family members shared my passion for socks. I have nice all-sports type socks, but I really want a pair of merino. Look at the Chrome ones every time I go into my closest hub, but never have the will to pay 16 bucks for socks instead of a good sandwich or some spare tubes.

I started wearing Wigwam socks 3 years ago. They are totally awesome, great fit and feel.
And they are indestructible, none show any wear. None of the one size fits all BS. Made in USA, maybe too good. Easily worth the $14 or $15. Same thing with cheap towels, they last 1/4 as long. |
important
Socks are very important, as I will fly fish and do long walks in winter, yesterday it was -13C. As my allergies are milder with age, wool is easier to handle, so I do like-prefer a fine merino sock. Some quick thoughts.
1. Women have a greater choice than men in style. 2. Harder to fine nice silk liners. 3. Wigwam has served me well, but now trialing a nice set of medium Smartwool. 4. For winter and hiking, I look for a medium sock, but for summer cycling, I been using old dress socks and a good shoe fit. 5. For scarves and socks, I been (lately) looking to Merino.
