Midwest gravel race overview/reviews
Hi all, looking for reviews/recommendations/experiences for a few of the following gravel races. I'm somewhat new to the sport and am looking for some longer distance, not very technical gravel rides in the Midwest. Please feel free to add reviews or add races that you had good experience. Looking for summer 2017.
May: Almanzo 100, Minnesota
June: Dirty Kanza 100 (not 200): Kansas, I'm thinking this might be too hardcore for a relative newbie like myself
June: Lusten 99er; Minnesota mountain bike race that seems to be more over gravel, snowmobile, back roads, various distances
July: not finding much in July, ideas?
August: 24 hours of Cumming, Iowa, roughly 60, 120, 180, or 240 miles (one loop repeated I believe)
Courage Ride: Iowa, fully supported gravel (and road) ride near Iowa City, love the gravel support
Others? I basically get 1 race per month to escape from family, want to make the best of it. Thanks.
Benny
