Back Alley Bikes is a 501(c)3 non-profit community bike shop, which has been operating in the Cass Corridor for 15 years. Our mission is to provide cycling education and services with a focus on youth development, sustainable practices and community access.
We work to achieve this mission by offering a variety of educational programs, volunteer training & opportunities, as well as rides and other types of support related to cycling education, materials, and resources.
An excellent program of theirs is youth earn a bike ,where a youth comes in chooses a donated bicycle and then services it under the supervision of a qualified mentor. It usually takes about 4 sessions for the bike to be gone through completely . After that time they are given a new helmet and can the take the bike home.
They also offer Adult bicycle mechanics classes.

Thank You for your support! This year the temperature at the start of BTB was 8 degrees and didn't rise above 20 over the 24 hour period. The top rider rode 105 miles . Nice going!!!
