The Great Southwest Detroit Industrial Bicycle Tour II Sept 18, 2011

Detroit Bikes Sept 18, 2011 ride
The Great Southwest Detroit Industrial Bicycle Tour II

We will have one or two beverage/food stops, probably on Vernor Ave. in

Here are the ride particulars,

Who: Sponsored by Detroit Bikes!, a project of Detroit Synergy
What: The Great Southwest Detroit Industrial Bicycle Tour II
Where: Start at the Riverwalk's Rivard Plaza in downtown Detroit.
Parking: Street parking for autos, trucks, and other cages is generally abundant
in the parking lot adjacent to Rivard Plaza on Atwater Street.
Date: Sunday, September 18, 2011
Time: Start at 9:00 AM SHARP!
Ending Time: Approximately 12 noon
Distance: Approximately 18 miles (about 29 kilometers)
Pace: Leisurely pace, suitable for all levels of riders.
Cost: Free!! But bring cash for beverages and food, if desired.
Rain Date: NONE! The ride will go on regardless of rain, snow, bedbug swarms,
earthquakes, tropical storms, and Lions victories.
Reservations: None needed! Just be there!

Helmets: Required.

Additional: Potholes, cracked and uneven pavement, road debris and other hazards
are part of the very fabric of the roads of Southwest Detroit. Skinny road tires
are not the best choice to navigate these roads. Mountain bike tires or hybrid
street tires will make a more comfortable and safe riding experience!
