Pumpkin Pie Ride October 7th in and near Ottawa, IL
Is anyone from here going on this ride? I'm planning on a full century and this will be my first.
Everything I hear says this is a well-organized ride and a good time. It will be my second organized ride ever.
Come out and help an older guy through his first full century.
More info can be found here.

I am registered for it because it is pretty much the last ride around here for the season. It looks very flat and for a first century should be easy enough for you. You should be able to hook up with riders along the way that are at the same riding ability as you. I usually look for a team riding together and hook up with them. Good luck with the century and have fun.

Hello. I am a member of the SRCA. Final preparations are being completed for Sunday. The long routes are marked and we are sweeping the corners to get rid of most of the gravel. Hope you have a great ride. I will be driving SAG that day. Hope I don't get to meet you, but feel free to say Hi to the green Ford Ranger anyway.

Well, I did it. I finished the full century (my first), 103 miles total on the day. The wind was a nuisance, shifting from NW to W to S throughout the day. The temperatures weren't too cooperative either, making it a chilly day. The SAG stops were great - coffee, water, gatorade, cookies (all kinds), hot potato soup, BBQ beef sandwiches, and of course pumpkin pie at the end.
Everyone was helpful. I will definitely be back next year, hopefully in better shape.
Thanks, Don, for the words of encouragement before the last leg.

It was a pleasure to meet you, Dale. Congratulations on your first century. It is a thrilling feeling. I rode around a motel parking lot three times in Mississippi to get mine.
