Yeah, that article is wrong. First race is as above. First day of regular practice sessions is today. (Generally, my information is more accurate than the paper info on this - its not their first mistake).

Yeah, it was closed last week due to the auto show. Experienced riders (like myself) have been riding it regularly since early December. But as of now general public can take classes and can purchase day, multiple use and annual passes:
Daily ($30),
10X Pass ($150) &
Season Pass ($300. 1/16 - 8/31)
are now required. Also, Class 101 & 201 will be required for new riders to participate in Open Riding. Class 301 will be required to Race.

Lexus Velodrome First timers must take class 101. Cost is $30. Bike & equipment rental is $10. We have plenty of bikes in many sizes. Bike rental for 10x and season pass holders is $5 per session.

Detroit residents get FREE bike rental.

The Velodrome needs to do a real web page. The present one gets an 'F' grade.
