Wisconsin & SE Wisconsin group rides
Sort of an fyi for those in the Wisconsin area.
If you haven't heard of MeetUp.com..it may be worth a look. MeetUp is everywhere, not just in Wisconsin. It's free.
There's several Wisconsin groups that are solely dedicated to riding or it's a big part of the events they schedule.
I've done a few rides (or weekend rides/small tours) with Ron's Wisconsin Bicycling Meetup. Ron runs a good group and does a great job with planning and running events. He hasn't posted this year's events yet..look at past events to get an idea. Events are all over WI and some in southern MN.

Lake County (as in Illinois) Bicycle Group is just south of the border in Illinois. Very active-cycling only group. Lots of rides that range from beginner to hard-core roadies.

Wisconsin(MKE) Camping, Silent Sports, & Arts MeetUp is a group I run out of the Milwaukee area. We have a number of event types. I schedule group rides scattered over the summer(more hiking in winter). This year we'll be doing the Root River Trail in MN as well as rides around LaGrange, WI, Madison, Lake Geneva, maybe the Eisenbahn again, Interurban Trail, Oak Leaf Trail, White River Trail, I've mapped some rides in the Northern Kettle Moraine, Ozaukee, Washington, Sheboygan Counties. Some rides are with the group, but tend to be slower as occasional riders join in. If the route is easy to follow we tend to break into groups by pace...fast and slower. Other rides are with a smaller core group of intermediate cyclists. We don't do a blistering pace, nor slow, we're somewhat half-fast with overall-ride average speeds in the low to mid teens..depending on terrain and length. Ride lengths are typically 30-50 miles. All ages are fine, but many of us are older adults..40-60ish, with a few 20s & 30s tossed in..

If Wisconsin is too far away..do a search locally..you may find something good.
