Looking for Detroit area casual ride group

Just wondering if anyone can recommend a slower paced or beginners bike riding group in the Detroit area? New to riding a road bike and very much interested in doing some group rides. Did the Tour De Troit last year with a coworker and had a great time. Definitely looking forward to riding further more often this year.

thanks!

You Should look into facebook group "detroit bikes" https://www.facebook.com/groups/DetroitBikes
They usually have weekly rides and monthly special themed rides starting in March. The ride group size is typically very manageable 20-50 .

There is also a Palmer Park Thursday evenings . Their early season paces are slow enough for beginners. They probably won't start until March or April. Here's an old link from last year People for Palmer Park Bike Rides - Detroit, Michigan - PEOPLE FOR PALMER PARK Not sure if they'll update it this year
On nice days they'll attract a few hundred cyclists.

Critical Mass is every last Friday of the month, year round. It meets at the corner of West Warren and Trumbull at 7pm. It's something to experience especially if the weather is good.

where in Detroit area? Its huge?

Road biking?

What pace?

Wolverines do plenty of rides at moderate paces, although what I consider moderate and what my wife considers moderate are two different things...

Though I have lived in Boston for many years, I’m a native of Detroit City Proper, and most of the family is in Macomb and Oakland Counties. I visit a couple times a year, with my bike, and I made the acquaintance of the Clinton River Riders.

St. Clair Shores has a summer weekly Nautical Ride. The link is at a car dealership site, but it's about a bike ride. Nautical Ride | Wednesday Night St. Clair Shores Bike Ride

Wow, I was just at Performance Bike, Novi a few days ago. Thanks for the info. I'll inquire the next time I am in there.

Yeah, road biking. I am a newbie so I would say around 10 - 12 mph or so.
