Mi:Great Lakes Way S. Lake Huron - W. Lake Erie

Great Lakes Moment: A Great Lakes Way stretching from southern Lake Huron through Western Lake Erie

The Eastern Seaboard has the Appalachian Trail, the Western Seaboard has the Pacific Rim Trail, and the Rocky Mountains has the Continental Divide Trail. If the Community Foundation for Southeast Michigan has its way, southeast Michigan will soon have a regional trail of national significance called the Great Lakes Way.

SANG is allowing for it to cut thru there area?
As I would like to see this all happen, the biggest promise I fear broken is the upkeep. Before it's all 100% completed to the current plan, the maintenance will already need to be active where the beginning of it was kicked off at. If the Paint Creek route was paved, that would be stellar. It's a wide long stretch of derailleur fatigue now.

The "pea" green area on the south end is just a main road. No markers on the road & has a lot of rough areas... rough that I would suggest a pickup truck to use instead of a bicycle.

"The provided map is a vision for the future and depicts how we will connect Lake Huron to Lake Erie"

First line of the third paragraph on the map

Right! There's a section there coming out of Lk Erie Metro Park that goes along the Turnpike - YIKES! I've ridden some of that and it sucks.
There is a better network of lower traffic dirt roads to the west. And they by-pass Pointe Mouilee as a point of interest. Heck, Pointe Mouilee is practically a destination! Especially for the folks who like to ride on small rocks.
It looks like I've ridden most of this area. Once you're off the metro park paths, traffic feels very unfriendly.

cheers.
