Cardinal Greenway - Beware!
Yesterday I spent a few hours riding part of the Cardinal Greenway Trail. I had parked at the Losantville, Indiana trailhead. When I got back to my SUV, I noticed a strong gasoline smell. I tried starting the engine and it wouldn't start. I looked under the SUV and saw a stain on the parking lot asphalt, and the bottom of the gas tank was wet. I felt the bottom of the gas tank and found a hole. Someone had drilled into the tank to get the gas.
I just wanted to warn other people that may be in this area and using trailheads near here. There's a gas thief around!

when you reported the incident, did the authorities mention if that's been a common "thing" happening in that area?

What the heck. I did a century ride out there last year and barely seen a soul the entire ride. I guess it helps when you're the only crazy person riding during 90+ degree weather. I suppose this could happen anywhere but this is just crackhead level desperate.
