103.7 miles. Solo, unsupported century in 05:43 (pedal time) with 3K feet of climbing. I'd never done one before so today seemed like a good idea with ideal weather and the wife at work. The pulled pork sandwich at the Waterloo Deli and Ice Cream Shoppe was awesome. If anyone in the Chelsea/Dexter area wants a challenge, try Waterloo Road going west off of M-52 north of Chelsea. That's the first time I've ever ridden it and it is a pain in the ***. It's relatively short but hilly for this area. Lots of 7% and 8% love for a few miles.

Going golfing tomorrow so my 602 miles for August is all I've got for the bikewire.net squad. Sorry.

I beat my previous best time and 4 minute power. And by "beat" I mean blew it out of the water.

I'm racing in Windsor, Ontario tomorrow, and I get to be a pro because I finally wrote down all of my interval powers down on paper and taped it to my top tube. I overshot all the powers by 15-25 watts so I could accomodate for race-day adrennaline, and for psyching out other racers who happen to sneak a peek at my bike.

I might race on Monday, assuming I could find a decent race to do.
Awesome.

newb checking in: 15.53 @ 16mph adding the extra lap in the forest preserve upped my averages since i have so many stop signs and road crossings on the way up there. its been nice to find that i can push harder in places i used to be barely pedaling.

I'm having a beer right now after a grueling 16 mile ride. And by grueling, I mean pretty easy afternoon spin.

Approx 30 miles of trailer haulin family fun. I am shot. I've been ratcheting back food and kept myself running on water and a coke. Nothing like hauling close to 100 pounds of trailer, child, gear, and bike. That can take the spring out of your step.

Thinking about doing it again tomorrow if anyone wants to join me....I'll start a thread.

I've only got 848.xx miles for the month that are recorded I've probably got another 100 or so on the carbon wheels. Most of the rides were short 15-20 mile intense rides after or before work.

I also blew my old 30 second power out fo the water today. I've now get a really nice w/kg number in that sector. I could lose another 1.5-2 kilo's by cutting my hair and makign that number a little higher.

Another 25 with my wife, who's getting the cycling bug more and more! That puts August up to 540 miles!!! I can't believe it. Never in my life would I have thought to do 540 miles in a month, I'm not bragging, I'm just really really happy!

Next month, I hope I beat it!

24 miles on the MTB. My usual route on the Racine County Bike Trail plus some miles on the new Hwy 83 bypass around Burlington that's not open yet.

I made a movie of it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ANX8jwwtI6o

I'd give it a 3 myself, but I had a 10 of fun making it.

John, that's great! I may have to hit that before it's open Nice to see a vid of the trail - ride it a decent amount myself when I need a quick ride. I head south out of Wind Lake down to W and back.

My weekend looked like this:

Sat: 21.6 miles
Sun 26.3 miles
This morning: 37 miles

All on my hardtail with slicks - various road routes. Wife wants to go out on a ride in a bit - should break 100 miles for the extended weekend.

62.6 solo miles at an average of 19.6mph. I originally intened an easy 50-miler, but upon entering the Metroparks 10 miles into the ride, there was a slow moving Ford F-250 (by slow, I mean doing the speed limit of 30mph) so I sprinted to him and he pulled me for 5 miles until an incline just sharp enough let him pull away from me.
After that my muscles were fired, so I did some tempo work, but no real intervals. I came close to equaling my 30 second power record, but no cigar.

Anyways, LOTS of cyclist out today. More than I've ever seen.

31mi - South leg of Wabash trail and back. Ventured a little onto the unpaved section then went back. Have to work tonight so maybe next weekend will explore rest (unpaved, Neapolis to Liberty Center) of South leg. Another option is take the South leg to Fulton-Lucas Rd then north to the North leg and back. Almost forms a 25mi loop.

8/29 90
8/30 50(does not include 10 miles chasing son during his HS XC race on the MTB)

all I can say about the month is >1200 but <1500
