5/6 - Tuesday Night group ride out of Penny Rd Pub. They put some hurt down. I won the sprint ;). Only 28 miles, but they hurt. Got back and couldn't find my legs or my lungs. I think I lost them somewhere along the route.

You're no racer. :p .

Correct....I'm a rider :) I always told you that racing was secondary for me and everytime I race it gets lower on my priority list. Give me a good fun and fast group ride anyday.

5/6 - Penny Road ride with Cylowe, Psimet, cyclpsycho, etc..

Moving Time (h:m:s) 1:21:10
Distance (mi ) 28.57
Moving Speed (mph) 21.1 avg. 38.7 max.

legs felt much better tonight. averaged 225 watts and 162bpm

Scummer 05-06-08 09:31 PM

2 hour training crits today with the South Chicago Wheelmen.
First race I placed 4th after I got caught by half a wheel after I started an attack 3/4 of a lap to the finish. I was shooting for 3rd, since no one was able to catch the 2 man breakaway. But didn't have the steam to stand up and sprint to the finish.
The attack started great, peloton was in somewhat of a shuffle mode for whatever reason and I used that confusion to accelerate hard and took off. I only heard someone saying "crap", which gave me some additional energy since I knew I got the gap and I solo'd into the finish only to get caught by another dude by 1/2 wheel. Ow well. It was fun.

Second race had a sprint lap after 14 laps and I took 3rd or 4th in that lap but then somehow lost power and got lapped twice by the peloton *argh*

3rd race I hung on for dear life and found myself in front all of a sudden to take a pull which I didn't want and got quickly passed through the back since I sucked at pulling

In the overall standings I got 5th place and walked away with a bottle of Gatorade *woohoo*

So now I'm toast.

The ride is a little quicker when the group is 7 (then 8) riders, eh?

A great ride last night!

BTW, I'm going to ask the mods to rename the other thread to "Barrington Hills / Penny Road Pub Tuesday Night Ride" or something like that so we can use it for updates, as the ride goes to 6:30 start next week.

ColorChange 05-07-08 06:52 AM

whitesox 05-07-08 02:38 PM

No you wouldn't Dave. You've ridden with me. You know what I ride like. You would have been off the front drilling this group with Cyclpsycho.

O yes,assuming I don't lose the little conditioning I did have.

Anyone interested in a Sunday ride? I get back from WDW on Saturday.

John Wilke 05-07-08 04:04 PM

JOLT trail plus some hills - 20 miles. Good ride for me.

nerobro 05-07-08 05:32 PM

and now i'm embarassed. My little 19 mile night of riding only came out to 100w

SSIndyRider 05-07-08 06:02 PM

averaged 21 miles each morning for the last 3 days. Ready for earlier dawn to add miles. Had to solo this morning (usually 2 of us), but tied my best avg speed of 19.6. Not quite the numbers of nietsmas, but then I had no help to push the speed up. Off tomorrow due to an early meeting.

jbernaeyge 05-08-08 08:35 PM

5/8 grinded out at raceway woods, did 8miles

voldemort 05-08-08 09:31 PM

5/6 and 5/7: 30 and 30 in Deer Park in Palatine (or just north of it). I was slowly heading up a hill when my right foot started feeling tightly constricted. Looked down and saw my shoestring was winding up around the pedal, probably just about to take me down. Glad it wasn't 30 seconds earlier on the downhill portion at 28mph:eek:, and glad it was the second day so my uphill riding at that point wasn't very fast. Did scare the crap out of me thinking about the possible high speed crash I could have had.

The last 2 sundays I was up near Madison in Wisconsin behind the cheese curtain.
First sunday was with the BFNIC crew while the 2nd sunday was the Quadrupedal century where I only got to 85 miles.

I don't know yet what I'm going to do this weekend. Depends on the weather I guess. Maybe I'm going to see if I can join the folks on spokes.
