3/16 We got in a nice 42 miles, roads are alot cleaner after the weekend rains, but still some debris here and there. Wind had a pretty good bite to it too, but our average speed was respectable for early season.

First real road ride of the season. Cloudless, 60 deg., snow 99% gone. Hopped on the trusty Gardin (vintage Ishiwata baby! with a fresh wrap of Tressoplast! ) and put in 45 minutes riding out of Muskego Park. Quiet roads, saw two pair of Sandhill Cranes wading in farm field ponds. Will repeat tomorrow.

Took a nice ride this morning. It takes about 4 mi. to get to the Rail Trail from my home. Did about 8 mi. on the trail and then the 4 home again. the trail is mostly dry but still a bit soft. The quads really got pumped. The return 4 mi was so easy pedaling on the pavement I felt like a kid again. Good day!!!!!!

36 easy country miles below HRZ 3 with one blast into 5. Working on burning fat and increasing cadence. Felt good after 2 much needed days off. Hills tomorrow.

Um, when was the last time I posted? No clue... scheduling's been nutty this week, but I squeezed in 30 Monday (took the long way home), 20 yesterday (a "late lunch"), and should get 40 in today. Weather has been just wonderful.... Yesterday was my first tight-less ride! HOORAY!

Ran 10 hilly miles with a group on Wednesday morning, went with them to a late breakfast, recovered for a couple hours, then out for 23 miles on the road bike for the first time. Back when I was working, it used to drive me nuts when we'd have this kind of early-season weather all week and then it would turn crappy on the weekend. But no more -- I recommend retirement highly.

3/18 65 miles first 32 all into a stiff west wind. Solo today, the little women had other chores to do.

Bootlegger, I was out in your neck of the woods, went through Berlin Heights, main road then took berlin rd to 113 to collins and back east on wells.

Got off work later than expected and only got 25 miles of hills in. Rode through Mill Hollow / Swift Hollow / Dean Road. Dean Road is ugly....the downhill is worse than the uphill, lot's of cinders and rocks. I slid all the way down and when I got to the bottom curve I thought I was going swimming......

Leinad you may have ridden past my house on the way back. I'm on Harmon at the west end near Cable.

Made it out for my second ride of the season. Even with riding the trainer in the basement over the snowy winter, I'm WAY out of shape. Did 40 miles last Saturday and 20 miles tonight. Very slow miles and I was winded even on the small to medium hills. Well, on the up side is that I'll have to do a LOT of riding to get back in shape.

The wind was deceiving today. The trees were not moving all that much but man was it blowing us around. Last 20 miles felt like they would never end....

Hour on the road yesterday and today from Muskego Park. Snow 99.99% gone, more open water on lakes and ponds although mostly ice covered yet. First of the frogs heard yesterday, tons of them croaking today. Riding in shorts with embrocation. Am pleased with the drivers giving me wide birth, not that I'm unable to ride a straight line (!), but greatly appreciated none-the-less. Really feeling like spring around here!

49 wind blown country miles. That NE wind off the lake had a bite to it. Tried to head south, then west, then east, but it didn't matter...it just made the ride back home north a workout. Nice ride, nice day, no traffic...beats a cold rain anyday.

70 mile ride was so good it stretched to 98. Nasty wind from the SSW grew stronger through the day, but failed to thwart me.

Saturday's ride was with a local guy who puts together a whole series of distance rides during the early part of each season, we did 106 miles. We rode to and through an area I had never been before and it was gorgeous! It's in the Chagrin river valley and you would have thought we were in New England on the ride. We had 23 riders start, most opting out for only 80 miles but 10 of us got in the full ride.

Great day, great group, great route!

For fun & because I got turned around on which way was "home", I mapped out yesterday's ride, not perfectly for privacy, but starting at the bike path: https://www.mapmyride.com/route/us/oh...26917219782925
