Who rode in the wind today?
The wind was roaring from the north today at a steady 20 with gusts even higher. I went into the teeth of this wind today for the last 10+ miles of a 55 mile ride today. Who else braved the winds today?

I wimped out and headed for a trail after feeling some initial gusts of the wind. It was still windy but the trees break quite a bit of it. The wind seemed very cool but I think my body is still used to 90's.

I commuted as usual. Most of my commute home is due west. Man-o-man, I thought I was going to come to a standstill a couple times. Today was one of those days I was wanting gears on my commuter bikes. Winds here in the west Chicago burbs were projected to be 27 mph @ 5pm with gusts even higher. I believe it.

I headed out after work for a quick spin before coming back into the office for some more good, clean fun (crazy deadlines right now.) Got caught in a brief downpour, but it cleared up after about 10 minutes. Got 20 very windy and damp miles in - I read they were gusting to 21mph here in Detroit.
Riding west = not so much fun.
Heading back home east - cruising along about 4-5mph above my normal speeds and easily keeping up with the flow of traffic. Much fun.

Looks like wind scared some people - I did not see usual crowd at my regular trail. Riding trail loops was 50% fun going east and 50% hard work going west. Even couple of uncomfortable moments flying south with side wind.

I commuted 18 miles northwest, the exact direction the wind is coming from, from downtown Chicago to home as usual. It was too bad and there were an average number of other cyclists out as well.

My nephew and I did 30 miles here in southern Wisconsin. Too beautiful of a day not to ride.

Wind was brutal yesterday where I live, The first half of my trip was into the wind so the ride back was a cake walk. I plan to really enjoy tomorrow's 75 degrees, then back to the upper 50's Amazing how that feels like a heat wave in March-April

The wind although not as bad as those winds back in the month of June, prevented me from getting on the saddle yesterday. I'll just wait for another clear skies with no wind and today seems to be perfect but schedules get in the way. Maybe I'll settle for a mile or two this afternoon just to satisfy the urge to get on the bike.

Wind, what wind? I rode east ten miles yesterday and everything was almost perfectly calm. Riding west was a fine opportunity to enjoy the scenery at a decidedly leisurely pace. <G>

Cruised 38 miles with a nice tailwind. Unfortunately I finally had to turn around and ride 38 right into that nasty headwind. Still beats the heck out of working all day

Hmmm....I'll ride into Downtown and have my wife pick me up then....
Actually I am along the Fox Rive Trail so it is fairly well protected from cross winds. the last bit home is all uphill and westbound though....

Genetics have failed me
My commute home tonight is going to be great... should have some great tailwind going southbound on the Lake Shore trail.
