Headed to Indy...anyone want to ride?

I'll be in Indy all next week. Most likely I am bringing my road and cyclocross bikes/gear. Looking for any group rides or individuals who want to meet up for a ride. I'm bringing a light as well.

I'll be in the North Carmel/ Westfield area.

I'll be in town for the holidays so I'm available almost any time (unless there is some family activity scheduled at that exact time).

If you know any good routes post links to them (assuming you have them mapped on something like mapmyride.com)

Either nobody wants to ride with you.

OR

People in Indiana are fair-weather babies.

OR

Both.

I vote both.

Well, as a morning rider, it's been below freezing recently and looks like it will be next week too. Riding the skinny tires below freezing and in the dark doesn't sound too good to me, so another, sure (but on the other side of town). Right now - doesn't work well. Check Town Run Trail for your cross bike. The Monon runs through the area you're in, but personally I find it a bit boring - straight & flat MUP. At east at this time of the year it shouldn't be packed.

Check out the CIBA website at cibaride.org.
There's a 1:00 sunday training ride, and a 9:00 am saturday ride, both on the north side.

Hmm....it's just "weather"....and I have a light

My cross bike isn't allergic to asphalt either. I've ridden sections of the Monon, and yes...horribly boring, but if it's between that or nothing....

I am coming in Sunday night and most likely leaving next Saturday. Might be able to catch that 9:00am Saturday ride though.

Anything leaving out of Bike Line in Carmel? Anyone looking to get out on Turkey day?

Psimet,

I don't do the cross thing, but the several members of the team do. I'm assuming they will be doing some pretty heavy cross riding during the early part of the week...doubt they'd mind a non-team extra. The practice normally happens at down on the South East side...a little drive, but not terrible. Think they normally go from about 3:45 to dark. Let me know if you're interested, and I'll see if I can get you hooked up.

Definitely interested. Which team (if I may ask)?

Speedway Wheelmen.

The cross practice is at (I think) South Eastway park. I will get some info and PM you as soon as I have some details concerning day(s) and time.

I'm going to try and get out on Friday...I'm not sure if you'd want to come down and do a nice 50 mile or so loop down here, but you'd be most welcome to come along.

Here's some of my routes: https://trail.motionbased.com/trail/user/mjstamper

I haven't been on my bike for about a month (started a new job in Indy), so I'll try and keep up.

OK - I did one loop 2 days ago up here on the North side. I have a buddy that rides cross as well that mentinoed through his mother (his mother and my mother are best friends) that he'd be interested in riding a cross ride on Friday. Still haven't heard from him though and I don't have his number.

I might be interested in getting something together Friday if he falls through.

Either way I am headed out tomorrow morning. Anyone interested? If not I'll just ride near here, but would rather ride with others and am willing to drive a bit to get to do that....chime in here tonight.

Feel free to join in the https://gravelgrovelgrouprides.blogspot.com. We will be doing about 120km at 30kmh pace, mostly gravel/clay roads, some hills but not brutal, through the Hoosier National Forest. See link for info.

Uh oh...I haven't been checking the forums as much since the break started. Just got back from a nice little ride up north. I hope you made it out with your friend!
