is it ok to use.....
..simple green to clean the chain and drivetrain on my bike and follow it up w/pro-link?

I do the same thing. Some say to dilute the Simple Green but I don't. I just spray it on, let it sit a little, take a car wheel cleaning brush and go all over the cassette, chainrings and spin the chain while brushing it back and forth. I then gently hose off the residue, wipe down the bike, let it dry a bit, then apply the chain lube. I have used that method on steel, aluminum and CF bikes and the paint is still on and colorful.
Now about the paint on my Cannondale's head tube, that is all blistering off, that's another story due to me breathing fire while in the drops.

I can't imagine why not. I use Simple Green, the household version, in my chain cleaner machine, then follow it up with lots of rag drying, then use Pro-Link or the Boeing stuff. No major issues yet. But I'm not sure if the Pro-Link is the best for water displacement.

Sounds good to me ... I do something similar ... if I'm being good, my full routine is:
- clean with degreaser in Park chain scrubber tool
- repeat with dish soap & water, rag dry
- spray with WD-40 to displace water, rag dry, let air dry
- lube with Prolink.

I've read threads that say Simple Green is corrosive. I thinks that's garbage. I've used it for years on the boat, which has lots of polished aluminum, and on bikes and I haven't seen any evidence of corrosion on anything. And it cleans chains really well in a chain cleaner.
