I'm taking a 2-day vacation from the bike. I'm almost halfway through the first one, and I already feel like I'm losing form. There is something wrong with me in the head I think.

But I'll probably just be riding around the greater Madison area Sunday and Monday.

I'm taking the bike along when I shoot pix in Burlington, IA Sat.,find someplace to ride down there before dark, then just ride around home on Sun and Mon. I'll be sure to use the GoPro cam when I'm down there. Maybe there is some cool bike paths along the river???

I'll be making my race report from down there, so watch for it. I think I've got this mobile WiFi thing ironed out.

I'm going to fit in a (very) early Saturday morning ride before heading to Michigan.

Hope to get good and lost for a few hours on the backroads of SW Michigan on Sunday before heading home. (don't worry, I'll wear my camo kit and fly my Ted Nugent freak flag to keep safe)

And maybe another early distance ride on Memorial Day.

Yum.

Bike the drive. Have a feeling I will get drawn into one of the masters races this weekend. We'll see.

I'll be doing a race at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course on Saturday. We'll head to our family cabin in Western PA for Sunday and Monday. I'll get to ride on Sunday and will take Monday off.

tomorrow i hope to participate in the LBS group ride. i say hope, cause last weekend i showed up for the A group ride and was the only one. seems this LBS A group is a bit of a fair weather bunch. it was just a little drizzle and 17 mph winds. HTFU.

anyway, i will ride out to the start/finish and end up with 60. i would like to go real long on Sunday, but the cards may be stacked against me. it will be a Sunday 40 for sure.

Monday will likely be a afternoon nap time effort. east 25 to 30 miles.

toss in some beers and grilling.........BAM.......pretty nice little weekend lined up. later.

Nice to see a lot of cyclists here. I'm lucky to see 1 or 2 during a 2 hour ride in my neck of the woods. And the streets in the city proper are absolutely awful. From the west side I went around Wingra and then out Seminole and the roads were like Bull Valley except instead of a 2 mile stretch of crap it was more like a 10 mile stretch.

Sat. I did a 52 mile exploration ride, checking out the Sauk Trail which goes from Chicago Heights to Joliet. I only got to Matteson tho because I had standing orders to be back home by 11am.

Sun. 30 mile ride going south on the State Line Rd., the road is somewhat sucky in some parts but you can't beat the almost non-existent traffic.

Mon. I probably take it easy so I can drop Joel on Tuesday.

No traffic on the county roads of Erie/Huron.Three full days of cycling 50-60 mi.each day, more than a guy could wish for.Wind a bit strong out of the north as usual.Only noticed 2 other riders out there in the Erie county region.
The weekend would of been perfect with the exception of having to mace a dog on Bellamy rd.Hope my mutt does not hear about the incident through the canine grapevine.

Took an easy weekend, rode about 17 on saturday for a recovery as I had been riding 25-30 the previous four days and I'm grossly out of shape. Yesterday I took off. Today put in 33.49 with some strong winds out of the east which hampered my abilities.
