Bought a new road bike

Aint she a beauty??

Thats right, a brand new GMC Denali. Weighs about 30 pounds!! My kid loves it so thats all that matters. Not a lot of options in kids road bikes that cost less that $700,, so he'll ride this for awhile.

It doesnt help that hes only 8 but as tall as most 11 year olds. He's happy tho and thats all that matters.

Yes, but that wasnt a road bike.

Shifters are on the grip, they're twist shifters.

If he gets good and wants to upgrade, I would recommend a redline cross bike. The junior program in my previous state got these for all their kids and they raced cross and road on them. Great for kids from 10 up. About the only decent bikes with a large rage of sizes for kids. Heck, get him out racing cross this fall. The chicrosscup needs a lot more juniors.

Anyway, fun times ahead! You just made my day.
