Ugh. Well I've been working on my biking abilities. Wattage is coming up, average speed is coming up. Distances are going up. All the wonderful things that come with real bike training. Maybe this gut will go away too.
I decided earlier today I'd ride my bike from my comfy home in deerfield out to a section of Sheriden road called ravine road. I do the majority of my riding after dark, and I've got 6w of LED to light my way.
Well, I managed to miss the turn to get there. I did eventually make it :-) Only to find a heck of a shock when I turned left off of tower road. A no bikes sign. I don't ignore most traffic signs, but this one I just couldn't stand for. I went for the road regardless.
And boy, that section of sheriden road IS interesting. My lighting just isn't up to the task of attacking that tight stuff at 25mph. Heck, even on the motorcycle I don't do more than 30 through most of it.
Going north is much kinder than going south. I think the south end is taller than the north end.
I fear hitting that bit of pavement during the day due to cop presence. Heck, I wonder if I'd have been ticketed tonight if I had an encounter with a cop.
Does anyone else have "interesting" places to ride? I think I may just need to hook up with the penny road group or something.

Yeah, I did some comparing to what you guys do... I'm putting out ~130w, and you guys are doing a steady 230 ;-) I'd be solidly dropped.
