Chicago area maintenance shops?
Sadly its been a couple years since I was about to ride. Im bringing it out now but the bike is all dusty and needs a good tune up and cleaning. Looking for suggestions on a cost effective maintenance shop or vendor that can get my bike back on the road. There are some bike shops near me but, but the $70-80 price is a bit steep for me. I live on the north side of the city by lakeview.

Hey there. I haven't found any bargain shops that thrill me, but if you have any interest in wrenching yourself, the "do it yourself" classes and open workshop nights at West Town Bikes are a great way to go. There's a similar operation up in Rogers Park (The Recyclery), but I haven't really used them. These are certainly the cheapest options, and will give you a greater understanding of your bike.
Best of luck!
