Im from Cheboygan. I do probably 75% bike trail and 25% mountain/offroad trails.
Im hoping to get over towards boyne or harbor for a few rides this summer. If nothing else Im heading there to pick up my new bike in a few weeks.

I'm from Antrim County. I ride a cheap fs bike,so I try to ride as many trails and seasonal roads as I can find. I also ride all winter with studded tires.

Does Northern Michigan include the UP.? that is a tour I am determined to do... . I am often a visitor to southern Michigan but once rode about the Tawas/Lumberman loop in Iosco County.. The smell of the forest during your rides, you are so lucky..

I went to school in Marquette in the yoop and it has loooots of great roads. problem is they arent really ridable on a road bike until late march or april but they are never ending and rarely flat.

The land of Hiawatha. You all are blessed.......Do you just wing it or is there a cycling guide to good roads for roadie touring in Yooper land.. The times I've driven across the UP the roads looked pretty narrow with no shoulder. And what about the bears.? Are they bike friendly. ?
