Cheri and I are going to ride down to Massillon and back tomorrow...perhaps meeting some BFers at Ernies' bike shop in Massillon for a short social ride either on the towpath/sippo or road or both.
We're taking off from the house around 8am...if anyone wants to meet, figure Ernie's at 10am. We'll pick up the towpath south in Canal Fulton on our way down, in case anyone wants to ride it north to meet us.
Nothing special, just an easy ride for the benefit of one of our local clyde's who had his knee replaced last year.

I forgot that you had opened a shop...in Canal Fulton?
<hint for plug with address and directions>
Cheri and I left just after 8, I on my beater Bianchi, her on her beater black Raleigh that just got new yellow/black bar tape (looks much better than the old pink. We rode down Hametown to Black Diamond to Back Massillon, then over to Massillon from there...we got to Ernie's little complex at about 9:15 or so. Unfortunately, Cheri wasn't feeling too good, I think the wind and the rollers got to her (she's only got maybe 150 miles under her belt for the year...she doesn't commute or ride much in the cold and slop), plus the clouds were starting to darken again (we got rained on a bit like 5 minutes from home, but it cleared), but most dreadfully, THE BLUE HERON WASN'T OPEN YET! - so after she ate a power bar and took a rest, we continued on at about 9:45 or so, instead of waiting till 10. Prolly a good thing too...it started thundering and raining a bit maybe 15 minutes after we got back home.
We started back up Riverside but then caught the towpath there at the old bridge and took it north through Canal Fulton, Clinton and finally to where it stops there at Van Buren...which we took over to Hudson's Run, to Wooster, Johnson and home. Total mileage was about 44 miles according to Cheri's computer.
Don't bother me a bit that none of you managed to show after the HUGE lead time I gave anyone to even see the thread. I got to ride with my wife, who is much better to look at than you bastards. (Tina excluded of course ).

Chipcom, Some day you are going to get down to Orrville on one of your rides and I will have to take you south to some forgotten roads in Holmes county. None of this chip and seal stuff but honest dirt and Gravel roads.

I've been on a few of them...south of Orrville and Dalton, getting towards Fredricksburg and Mt. Eaton. I love riding down there, especially on Sundays when I can check out all the hawt Amish and Mennonite chicks in their sexy dresses and souped up buggies, prowling for heathens like me.

Ok everyone. My shop is in Canal Fulton, 219 W. Cherry Street. It is ironically called "Cherry Street Cycles" About 20 feet from the Muskingum Trail, and about 50 yards from the towpath trail, or the ice cream shop (for Chipcom) in front of the Canoe Livery. Right now I only have used bikes, rentals, some snacks. Building the biz slow. I am open right now on weekends, and I am usually there evening during the week. I am running basic tune-up specials for $19.99 (Cleaning, adjusting, and minor truing) I would put my phone number down, but that is being installed on Monday.

Well, I see I showed up late. I'll catch the next one. I tried out a route that leaves Quail hollow state park recently, it's on the hillier side but there were some really great downhills. The route also takes you past New Baltimore Ice Cream... just sayin. I'll post it up as soon as bikely decides to work.

Here is the route:

I guess at 24miles it's a bit short.
