Hey, it's been a while since we've seen you out and about.

Yeah, it's an early morning for those of us down Chicago way. Just as point of reference because you'll obviously take a different route, but Cross Plains is about a 2 hour drive from Elgin, but that's all interstate to and around the Madison beltline. The last kick on US-14 to Cross Plains is quick.

Yeah it has been a while. I haven't done any serious riding in the last few months besides commuting and rides to the donut shop. I've still got my HHH maps and a reasonably good sense of direction so I'm not worried about being dropped and lost. I'm looking forward to seeing the group again.

I just got my 11-28 on my SLC-SL. Di2 says it can't be done. Well, yes it can. Thank god, as I will definitely need it. Think I'm going with the 404's.

Maps will be served.

If your legs aren't feeling up to it or the weather is brutal hot, there are several places to cut this one short.

On second thought, I really don't want to go faster on the downhills and don't need to go faster on the flats. Hmmm ....

I suggest car pooling. Meet somewhere close to I-55 and I-294 and drive the rest in one car/van?

Wish I could make this, but I can't be up there that early on Saturday. Possibly on Sunday, but that won't cut it.

Colorchange: be a man. Do the ride on your Cannondale with the heaviest, box-section rims you can find. Make it a challenge.

He wouldn't do that. Hell, I don't think he could do that.

But he should. Without the Polar.

Challenge!

I'll switch with him...he can ride my 27lb steel 46/17 single speed sans 'pooter. Bonus...it's got spd platforms!

This makes it so much easier to walk the bike up the hills.

I would actually think he should ride with the Polar, just because the data would be very useful in planning proper rest and future workouts.

Since we know he doesn't do rest weeks and recovery rides, though, I'm with you.

I don't think he can ride without the Polar.

Do so! Recovery ride today and rest week a week ago.

I will black out the display but do want the data later for the reasons stated.

If a tree falls in the forest, but it's not using its SRM*, how do we know the tree even fell, let alone measure the impact it created when it either did or did not fall?

Hmmmmm...not sure what SRM is so I looked it up in Urban Dictionary First Definition: SRM Solid-propellant Rocket Motor Yeah, I'll take one of those for Saturday. Another Definition: SRM Solid Rock Ministries Maybe we can get them to pray for us.

I'm just thinking I don't even need no freakin compact anymore...to heck with the sand bagging.. haha NVR you won't get dropped. There will be a couple of groups. Will be great to see you! I'm just hoping to see CC in the parking lot before we roll out; I'll have my black electrical tape in case we need to make any modifications on his machine

A few days ago I swapped out my Psimet wheels with a colleague for him to try and as a result I had no wheel sensor. We went about 25 miles or so (I know the route to be that) but it was quite liberating to be freed of the computer. As it is it only does the basics (av speed, distance, od, time, pace), but it reminded me of the halcyon helmetless, lycra-less summers of youth spent riding around with no sense of speed or distance.

Have fun guys. I'll be doing a decidedly less rigorous ride on the Ozaukee Interurban Trail that day. Would have been nice to really test the compact, but I'll get plenty of opportunities.

Maybe I can talk you guys into doing the Wright Stuff Century in September.

In! I'll be adding on 26 miles, for the ride from home.

But who's counting, apparently!

The official recovery meal of the Double or Nothing?

How can it not be the Double Down? Look at it in all its glorious doubleness.
