Minneapolis cyclists: locking advice?

So, I'm studying at the U of M this fall, and I'll be living in south Minneapolis. I'll be locking up around the West Bank campus every day, and probably locking up downtown or wherever some days as well.

I've got a kryponite mini U-lock, and a kryponite cable lock, so I'm not really worried about the bike itself or the wheels. I have a Brooks B-17 on my bike, and that's my biggest concern. Both the saddle and seatpost clamp are bolts, but anyone with an adjustable wrench could take the saddle off if they really wanted. Should I be concerned about my saddle during daytime lock ups? I thought about doing the old-chain loop from the saddle rails to the rear triangle, but I wasn't sure if it was necessary.

Thanks

I haven't seen or heard reports of saddle thefts, but as always, ymmv.

I haven't seen saddle theft. If you are really worried you can apply for a bike locker (~$80/year).

theft might not be a big issue but what about rain, getting the thing soaked for a few hours?

Some bikes have a quick release type bolt at the seat post so you can easily take it off yourself and bring it with you. If you use that type of set up just remember to always remove the seat,if it's reall easy someone else will

I put a shopping bag over mine, first for the rain, second to keep that nice looking Brooks out ‘a sight. I’ve heard of people putting a ball barring with a drop of wax in the hex key slot, but I don’t do it.

ive never heard of a allen seat/post theft, but everyday is a new day.
imo, there are enough really nice bikes around the twin cities, that yours migh tnot stand out. there shoudl be easier pickings...that and a hack thief wont know a b-17 saddle, from a b17 bomber.

ive only seen qr saddle thefts.
