Cyclocross Bike?

I'm looking at getting a cyclocross bike. I might be able to race cyclocross if my knee holds up to the running, etc. I can also use it as my ice bike, rain bike, and winter bike. This way I only need 3 bikes (road, tt, cx - will risk the SLC-SL for the rare crits I do) instead of my current 5.

My current winter bike is a $200 Schwinn that has nasty shifters and is stiff as ($#)^. This way I can get an awesome winter/rain/ice bike that can CX race.

Leaning toward a Specialized S-Works Tricross at the moment. This is kind of a road oriented CX as the high end Ridley's have geometries that do not favor short legged/long torso riders like myself. Any thoughts?
