Ride from Hell

Spent the day on Sunday biking the Erie Canal Towpath. My wife Tina and I biked a little over 55 miles in the rain and sun whatever the weather felf like doing at that particular moment. After we were about half way into the ride my left knee was killing me. By the end of the ride I could barely walk. This is pushing me even more towards getting a new bike ASAP!

Even though I love these trips on the towpath I really want to get back to riding at Findley State park and try Mohican

I'll be the first among several here to recommend a faster cadence. Spinning faster often reduces knee pain & injury.

Thank you, I will try that. I have never had knee problems before and why all of a sudden I'm having problems today is beyound me. On this trip I tried knocking the bike down from the large derailer to the middle thinking that might help. The pedaling feels easy to me so I never thought of increasing my cadence. I was just assuming that I bike I have is a piece of crap and is set up wrong for me...
