Chicago People! Road conditions?

Hey Chicagoans, are you out there?

I moved to a new neighborhood and will be riding for the first time in a while so I am unfamiliar with my new route. I am wondering what bike conditions are like on Elston these days? Last time I rode (January) the debris was so bad that I got a flat (through my gator skins!). Wondering if there's a chance it is better? Thinking of taking Lincoln Ave south instead.

Lincoln Ave is terrible all sizes of potholes in both directions and with most of the streets messed up at this point I would only use a mountain bike with fatter tires

Chicago roads are highly pot-holed during a normal spring, this year is epic. I'd put 700x35 touring tires like these on your Cross Check;
