Anyone else in?

Besides deet, what else do you need to survive a summer in northern MN,

That's the area of MN I grew up in. Yes, bring bug spray for sure. Deer flies will more of a bother when you're riding than skeeters.

You did miss it; this year's ride was like right next door to you since it started out in Brainerd. It was great. The food was really good. BAM provides breakfast, lunch, and dinner and the quality was, I though, above average with a lot of healthy choices. The routes were, by and large, well planned out. The roads were well marked and pretty scenic. Plus the size was right, I thought, since the ride is capped at 275. The shower truck was kind of dorky but it worked.

I've done a couple of these state rides. This is a good one and I'm doing it next year. Heck even the mosquitoes weren't bad in August.
