Anyone ridden the Gitchi-Gami State Trail?
 

Gitchi-Gami runs north from Two Harbors to Grand Marais, MN along Lake Supior's North Shore. There are 3 short non-contiguous sections that are paved/complete. What I'm wondering is what the trail is like (is there a trail?) in between the completed sections. Are you riding on the shoulder of a highway? Or, is there a trail that is only suitable for ATVs in between. I live in MN, but to get there and have time to ride will require overnight travel. I'd like to have enough trail to ride to make it worth while. Thanks.

You would have to ride Hwy 61 between the completed sections. Hwy 61 has a shoulder in sections but none to very narrow in others.
