The 42 Ride Ends in LA

Wow! is the only word to describe the entire ride:
I took 1400 pics and will use them to tell about the Ride.

Fran was the ony female of the entire 42 Riders that rode every mile.(4200 of them)

Roy at age 73 rode 4200 miles.

Doug with three cameras took 6,000 photos

Arriving at The New Jersey airport I Learned that we don't all look alike.

We started in Central Park on TV Channel 11 Live.

Tuff time leaving New York.
I think we made 17 U-Turns.

Flats:
I had 12 flats in my ride.
Chad had 8 Flats in the same day.
Caroline on The North Ride had None.

We camped 14 times on The Southern Ride.
The first Camp had a Pool and Hot Tub, nice showers and bath rooms.

We had 16 @ 42 Below Promotions and Parties.

Started June 25th 2009 in NY. Ended Aug 22nd 2009 in LA

This is The Southern Five Riders that rode every mile:
Left to Right: Dada, Blaise, Fran, Bennet, Matt.

Was it difficult to get computer time during the 58 days of riding?
Yes

Ohh man.... I wish I had put two and two together! You guys came through Tucson, but I didn't realize you were with them. A buddy of mine rode out of Tucson with you guys. Too bad I missed you, would have loved to have ridden with you. Sounds like it was a blast.

We Loved Tucson.
The Congress Hotel Party was The Best.
The Ordinary Bike Shop was The Best, They gave us bottles, tubes, and patch kits.
The Community Ride was Neat.

I was on that Tuesday Night Bike ride! We probably passed each other and had no idea! Ordinary is my shop. I actually ride with Karl most Sundays too. He was rocking the 42 below jersey last time we rode together. Sounds like it was a great trip.

We were paid to wear The 42 Jersey and ride to Scheduled Events (16) in different cities.
Once we arrived the bikes would be loaded on the 24 ft box truck.
We got free drinks and food and mingled with the customers at the locations.
The events lasted 2 hours, then we would ride back in the 15 passenger vans to the hotel.

You guys rode East to West. Is it harder going that way with the wind? I heard that the transcontinental winds blow East.

Wow!!! Your coast to coast ride looks absolutely amazing. And appeared to include a tipple from my neck of the woods. (Newcastle Brown Ale...or Newkie Broon as we call it).

The Wind was not a problem for us.
