Analysis Paralysis!
Hi! I am excited about buying a new bike - but can't seam to decide on one over another. I love the Trek FX 7.5 - I love the way it rides, but I think the geometry may be off for me. As soon as I get on any other bike - they seam more comfortable. I love the built-in sensor slot on the FX 7.5..I think that may be why I don't want to give that up, which I know is dumb. I rode the 20", which I think is bit big, but the 17" is too small. The woman's version is 19", which may be perfect, but is pink.
I am going to try the Devinci Amsterdam. Does anyone have any experience with that bike, or how it stacks up against the FX7.5? I also rode a Specialized Sirrus Comp (medium) today, which felt great, but I think may be a bit overpriced? Any advice on choosing between the Trek FX 7.5 vs Devinci Amsterdam vs Specialized Sirrus Comp? Thanks! |

Yep. Go with what fits well and feels comfortable. An integrated speed/cadence sensor won't help if the bike's not right for you...

Yeah, it's a bummer when the bike you think is sexy is the one that isn't comfortable :-/ I hear you about the pink. You have done the right analysis in not purchasing the bike that doesn't fit you well. So perhaps the answer is to look at more bikes to see if you can find one that fits well and is more appealing.

Check with your LBS and see if they'll install a longer stem so you can test it with that. I'm not sure how much you've adjusted the fit while testing but there might be a few tweaks that would make the 17 incher a bit more comfortable. Flipping the stem along can give you a few MM more reach.

Don't be blinded by bells and whistles. Buy the bike that feels best to you.
