Are the Trek 7.1 FX and 7.2 FX compatible with WeeRide?
Hi all,
My wife and I are shopping for hybrid bicycles that will accept a WeeRide Kangaroo child seat. So far, my wife has really liked the Trek 7.1 and 7.2 FX. I emailed WeeRide about compatibility with the 7.2 FX and sent them a photo of the bike along with the Trek product page, and their response was that it would fit that bike nicely. But looking at the bike myself, I just don't see how it could - it looks like there just isn't enough real estate on the head tube between the bike frame and the handlebar stem for the front of the WeeRide mounting bar collar to attach to. Does anyone here have any experience with this seat and this bike? Am I misjudging the spacing?
And if the Treks aren't compatible, can anyone recommend a hybrid in that price range that is? All the bikes I look at seem to have the same problem - not enough height on the head tube below the handlebar stem. Thanks in advance.

If you have the carrier then take it to your LBS to see how it fits/works.
i think all you need is about an inch of handlebar stem to attach it. Worse case is that you'll have to raise your stem.
i have the ibert and they both seem to work the same way.
