Specialized Sirrus Comp Disc vs Sirrus Elite Carbon. Go for components or carbon?
I'm trying to find a nice, fast hybrid for $1,000 - $1,4000. Ive been looking at the Specialized Sirrus Comp Disc and the Sirrus Elite Carbon. I noticed the Comp Disc has better components and is 10 speed, but isnt carbon. So what's the best one to go with? Whate very bike I buy, I do not plan on upgrading.
My goal is to ride long distances (30 to 50 miles, or longer some day), at avg speeds up to 16-17 mph. If there is a bike better fitted for my needs, in my noted price range, please let me know. Road bikes not an option
Here's comparison of the two Sirrus bikes

The sirrus comp disc is a good option, like you said - better components all round.
Should be some good discounts on 2015 models if you phone around. Regarding not upgrading, I doubt you'll enjoy the stock saddle, so may need to upgrade.

An option close to your price range. Carbon frame; very good components. Worth considering.

I agree the Quick looks good, like its ready for fun, that Felt is just too industrial looking. My bike is too at times but I like how it rides so I'm keeping it.

Awesome, when do you expect to get it? Are you new to the Quick series or is this a Quick upgrade for you? One last question, will you use it for neighborhood rides or fast & long rides?
Sorry for all the questions

Essentially, your bicycle is your frame.
Pretty much anything else can be upgraded when the money becomes available.
Therefore I would always get the best frame I could afford.

It should be here by the third week of September and will be my first Quick...first hybrid, actually. My current ride is a 2007 Trek 1500 aluminum roadie. I'll use the Quick mainly for fitness rides around the neighborhood, on bike paths, riding to the gym, etc. Probably no more than 20 miles at a crack. Any more than that and my road bike will be the better option.

I ordered a 2016 Quick Speed 1 yesterday, can't wait to get it!
retlod, that's cool that you'll have the trek for long rides. I'm going from a Cannondale CADD 10 4 to this Quick Speed 1 and I'm hoping for rides up to 30 to 50 miles every week or so. I'm switching to the hybrid because I just couldn't get comfortable again on the CAAD 10 after I wrecked last year.

The Allergro Elite is sold out for 2015 year. I could have got it for 900 dollars, best value of the bikes out there.
