Hybrid bike suggestions?

I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions for a good hybrid bike. I would prefer one that is under 400, maybe 500.
I will do mainly on road biking, so I am looking at a bike which is also hopefully not be too heavy. I am also planning on bikejoring, so Im not sure if anyone has any suggestions based on that maybe?

Have you any ideas of what bike could offer the most for the price range I am looking at? There is so much choice, I do not know where to start.

I would prefer one with a little higher speed, there are not too many hills in the area so that's not a huge concern.

One of the top suggested hybrids around here is a Trek FX 7.2 or higher for a reason. The competitors have identical bikes, such as the Specialized Sirrus.

However, if you are going to do bikejoring (looks like dog sledding on a bike), depending on your anticipated terrain, you may want a bike with wider tires or front suspension. The majority of the pictures on google look like mountain bikes.

I'm a fan of the Diamondback Insight 3. Great bike with decent components and a reasonable price. If yo can find one look for the Insight Elite same as the 3 but has carbon fork.
