Trek 300fx model year, and is this a fair price?

I'm about to potentially purchase a used Trek bike.

The picture the guy send me says the bike is a 300FX, but looking through the Trek website and the bluebook website I can't locate the bike, I think it may be a Navigator 300 from 2004, but am unsure.

The guy is asking for $85, which seems fair (I haven't seen the bike in person so I can't attest to their condition yet), I'm only gonna use them for a few months before I leave the country so I just need them to be in good condition and not break on me in a couple of months.

I was hoping you guys may be able to help and provide info on the matter. I am going to see the bile tomorrow and hopefully purchase it then if not on Monday.

@mas354 It looks like the 2005 7300FX.

Here is a link to the BicycleBlueBook for it.

I'm thinking it could be an SU300. Trek sold the SU100 and SU200 here, and the SU300 may have been an overseas model. Or maybe they had something called a 300FX overseas. I don't think it's a Navigator, as those usually had suspension forks. The SU100 and SU200 looked like decent bikes -- aluminum frames with rigid forks and Alivio derailleurs.

That one looks like a small frame -- probably a 15" or 17" size. The price is probably fair if it fits and is in very good condition.

It could also be a 7300FX (maybe the guy is missing the '7').

Whatever model it is it is obviously one of the ubiquitous entry level hybrids, and for $85 you can't go wrong. Buy it. Ride it for a few months. Then sell it for $100.

If it's any help I sold my '03 Trek 7500FX last year for $125 (I think). It was in pretty good condition and had brand new Conti Gatorskin Hardshell tires.
