Replacing 2015 Trek FX 7.2 - What is the current comparable?

I'd like to replace my 2015 Trek FX 7.2 22.5" bike with something comparable that has disc brakes this time instead of the pads on the '15. Is the FX 2 the current comparable model? Or another recommended? I'd like to keep it to about $500-$800 again. Thanks!

FX3 Disc just fits your budget and would be a nice upgrade from the FX2.

I was informed in my recent and final dealings with Trek that the X2 is the current model replacement for my FX7.3. Mine had the chain stay split, and they are refusing to cover it claiming it was frozen...which is tough to accomplish hung inside my house, but who am I and the tech at the dealer where I bought it to argue ;-).

The FX3 disc looks like a great bike. My daughter received an FX as a birthday present and it is a nice bike. I can only imagine the FX3 would be significantly nicer.

If you have a local Raleigh dealer, you may want to look at the Cadent 3 or 4. If you buy online, slight assembly will be needed which may cost some money. In addition to that, it never hurts to have the LBS double check everything before you go cruising down a hill at 25+ mph.

This time of year can make things interesting when buying a new bike. The current model year has ceased production. You will begin to find that they are out of stock for certain models. Remaining 2018 models will begin to be discounted very soon if they aren't already.

This is true and actually pretty frustrating since it's peak riding season. Current model year bikes are really hard to find, but yet the next model year bikes really don't start tricking in for another month or more. Went through this when I bought my Sirrus in late July 2016.
