Ergon GP3 or something else?

Spend the money and do it once or get "something else" cheaper and what?

Ergon.

For integrated bar ends and grips, I think the Ergon GP3 is a great choice. As a grip itself, I don't think Ergon is unbeatable, and I've found other grips I like better. But they don't have integrated bar ends. Look also at the GP4 and GP5 for larger bar end segments.

Would be interested to hear your findings please.

I did get the GP3's earlier this year. Am a bit disappointed since the bar end isn't really large enough for my hand.

I am most likely going to replace these next year with the GP1's and buy a separate bar end like these:

I'm hopeful these will be larger and more comfortable bar ends.

One of the best things I added to my bike was Ergon GP3's.....I don't like the look of bar ends in general but when I ride my other hybrid with regular Ergons I find myself grabbing for the ends. Very happy with that purchase and highly recommend them.

I enjoy these grips. I have the ones without bar ends, and I find these more comfortable than Ergon grips. I didn't buy the ones with bar ends because you can't adjust the angle of the bar ends independent of the grips, as you can with the Ergons. Having said that, the palm rest on these is large enough to where I don't feel the need for bar ends -- you can easily wrap your hands around them and get a different hand position that way. I'll say again that I think the Ergon product is one of the best if you're interested in an integrated grip and bar end. They're engineered and assembled well. I don't find them all that comfortable as a grip, but I don't think there's a better grip/bar end combo.

GP3 not big enough? I have the GP2 and they're awesome, even for decent climbs. All I require is a different hand position from standard.

Love them!!

Just put them on my bike. Exactly what I was looking for with the small bar ends to sort of imitate placing hands on hoods of the road bike.

Anyone else think the GS3 looks better than the GP3? From the reviews I've read, the GP3 is more comfortable with the bigger wing surface, but the GS3 allows you more control on rougher terrain. Either way, I will be getting either one for my Roam next month.

I think the GP series may have a wider pad (left to right), but I think the GS series has a deeper pad (front to back). I'd probably be interested in trying the GS series if I bought an Ergon brand grip in the future. I had forgotten about this series -- thanks for mentioning it.

I put the Ergon GP3 on my bike over the weekend. I am very pleased with them so far. My hands and fingers are no longer getting numb. I rode for 2 hours this morning without any hand discomfort.

Ergon is good quality. I'm fond of their GA2 grips myself. Quality-wise you can't go wrong.

Ergon's almost in a class of its own, especially with the "S" or small grips. I tried Ergotec grips, but they were too fat between the thumb and forefinger, as compared to the slimmer Ergons. I much prefer the GP 4 to the GP 3, as it has a much nicer hand presence and less curvature; the GP 3 ends can feel a little small at times and you can't lay your thumbs flat on the top like you can with the GP 4s.

I installed Ergon GP4 grips about a month ago ….. I love them.
