I think this idea has potential.

I like it. That's a pretty interesting design.

As long as it does not get full of mud and gunk, it ought to work ...

Has been posted on this forum several times. At this point it doesn't even change gears, so there's still a far way to go for it to become production-worthy.

I say no.....it's not hybrid worth..........YET! Once this technology is refined and working, it will be very very expensive for many years before it trickles down to bikes like hybrids. The hybrids that would get this first would most likely be the more expensive lighter hybrids like the Trek FX or Sirrus.

But I do think the concept is cool and would like to see it work.

Enclose it in an oil bath , so it wont wear out so fast..

We already have shaft drive on bicycles, but that was probably what you were hinting at.

I remain extremely skeptical. The efficiency gains supposedly stem from fewer points of contact, but I have to wonder if it's possible to maintain 2 points of contact as stably as 6 on an actual moving bike, especially since the 2 contacts are at an approximately 90 degree angle. Right now, it just looks like they've invented a high-tech egg beater--there's no working bike they're willing to show.
