Well that was exhilarating.
It's going to rain for the next few days so I figured I would get in a ride to day. Went out around 12:30 thinking I would catch the sun high in the sky to help with the temp. Black windbreaker over a sweatshirt and off I go. It is 46* out and with a top speed of 27 mph at one point I could not see as my eyes were watering so bad it was running down my cheeks. I got in 9 miles and 600 ft of elevation gain and called it a day. WOW, that was a good test of what I can expect here for the next few months. I guess at 70 yrs I should be at least satisfied with what I did, but I'am not.
