I bought a Vilano mountain bike a couple of years ago so my comments are based on that experience.
1. I thought the bike was good value for the money. That being said, it's going to be an okay bike, but not a real good bike.
2. Weight. I don't know how much this bike weighs, but I will predict that's near or over 30 pounds. That's not a problem if you're riding on level terrain all the time, but if you live in a hilly area, then weight is important.
3. Gears. Again the importance of the number and range of gears depends on how you ride and where you ride. If you want to sustain a fast pace and fast, steady cadence, then you want more gears. And if that pace is important to you, then get a road bike. If you're climbing a lot of hills, make sure you have a wide range.
4. Mechanical skills. All new bikes need adjustments, and this bike in particular will need adjustments. Beyond assembly, you will probably need to true the wheels and adjust the brakes. If you're confident you can do those jobs along with other adjustments such as "tuning" the shifting, then good. If not...

Good luck.

Decent bike, it's definitely an entry level bike. I bought one, rides nice, looks okay. No issues in the year I've had it. You can probably pick up a nicer bike on CL for the same or less money. If you want it go for it....
