Looking for a new bike
I just out grew my current bike last season and am not looking for a hybrid (probably dual sport). I will be doing mostly road/sidewalk/gravel path biking and would mostly be going for about 15 mile rides. Since my budget is $500 I have become interested in the trek dual sport. Is this a good option or should I look elsewhere.
I also would prefer a bike with only one front gear as it is more simple and less finicky but this seems to only be popular on much more premium bikes.

The Devinci Cartier Altus and Raleigh Redux have one chainring at the front but no front suspension. The Norco Indie 3 doesn't have either but large tires to survive trails.

If I'm not mistaken, the Giant Roam 3 retails for just under $500. Doesn't have a X1 drivetrain, but as you've noticed, that is usually a feature on higher end offerings.
