US makers

looking into a hybrid to augment my road CAAD9.
But I'd like to find one that is as much as possible, US made, without being $15000.
Any suggestions or not gonna happen?

Why US made? Taiwan has some terrific manufacturers, who build for US companies. Find a company you like; Jamis, State, Detroit, Rivendell, a plethora of others, and buy from them.

Here's a Google search for custom bike builders in New York (did not specify city or state). A custom bike doesn't have to cost $15,000, but depending on what you want, could run to a few thousand.

Typical US consumer. Complains that everything is made in lower cost countries. Then sees a US made option that cost 1% more. Then makes up some excuse to buy China made product anyway.

Hope OP used US made computer to post here. Good luck finding US made drivetrains, bike computer, tires etc.

thank you for the angry and presumptuous review. perfect thing to add to a thread.
Some basic math - $4500 is not 1% more than $1500.
While I realize the other bits are unlikely to be made here, there are plenty of US craftsmen worth supporting, that make lovely bits of metal craft frames..
Which was why I bought the US made CAAD9 originally.
Where I can, I buy US, even if it sometimes considerably more than a foreign made "equivalent".
The last US made computer I worked on was a PDP11 in 1975.
Commerce being what it is forces me to buy foreign of what use to be American made. I prefer to support my own, where I can, without affecting others.
snarls in your court.

I'd like to get a frame and drive train for < $1500 if possible.
Don't care about carbon fibre bits in general or saving 10g of weight.
Like it to be < 20lbs.
Them Cannondale crafters must be somewhere .....
