Yep, had one for about 8 years and commuted to work on it regularly. It was nice. I especially liked the unusual tubing shape, the top and down tubes were semi triangular. I think mine was a 2005, the later models switched to curved top and down tubes and they dropped the CF seat stays. Didn't look as nice in my opinion, but I'm sure they were still nice bikes.

I bought a BNIB Marin Muirwoods in 1995. I've put many miles on it and it's has been a great bike and still own it.....actually my son owns it now and the bike is older than him by one year.
He is amazed how smooth the bike rides for a 26yr old bike. So my experience is Marin makes good bikes.....

Ya...I bought the bike. It was a good deal with carbon fiber stem and seat post, Shimano SPD pedals, Richie bars etc so I didnít want to wait around and have it sold before I made a decision.

bike wonít be in my hands til next week. Once I have 10 post Iíll be able to post a pic

That looks like a frame-up build; there is an ebay seller that sells/sold a bunch of ex-warranty Marin frames, that could be the source of this frame. There are two potential issues I can see with what I am seeing:

1/ fork length. MK I eyeball says its a bit short; yours has a road fork, while the original seems to be a CX length fork.
2/ brake mismatch. In itself not a big deal, but they must be matched to the proper levers for proper performance.

If those are not an issue, it does seem like a new bike and in good condition.

Seller def built the bike....he told me as much. He listed it as a Road bike...so I knew what I was getting.

Def a brake mismatch also....which is no biggie. Shimano soro in the front....Avid Single Digit in the rear.

I think the potential issue is a short-pull caliper brake at the front and a long-pull linear pull brake at the rear. The same levers wouldn't be optimal for both without some sort of cable pull adapter.
