AndyGarton,

I have road set up on my hybrid too... not that extensive though..

What is your excuse of having/making this thing so close to road bike in price and everything but not the road bike?

A long term back injury which means I need an upright riding position.

Oh, sorry to hear it and thank you for answering.

You are the man ...... to find the way to continue riding no matter what.

Nice bike Andy :)
I didn't know Trek made those that nice standard.
Do you use that strange handlebar and if so, how?

fairymuff 10-06-11 06:35 AM

Not for putting a bar bag on, that's for sure ;)

But yeah, very sexy bike. I want one...

I use it occasionally as an alternate hand/body position to give me a break - steering is obviously more difficult so it's a "long straight aero" position only. Having said that I do intend to replace it with a narrower flat bar (the "strange" one came standard on the bike) as I find these too wide in the normal hand position.

Next mod will be some better brakes !

Wow...nice looking Boy.

I like the Niner fork.
It does not have V-brake bosses though...
(do not want to have discs on my Boy)

Damn fine looking bike. What size tyres have you got on it? I understand we have different frames (mine is 2007) and the biggest I could fit were 32mm.
Also, is it sitting higher at the front than with the original fork?

Pretty bike, but way too much carbon for my liking.

Were you traumatized by a pencil as a child ?

:)

+1 ....

Gotta love the texture of clean unpainted carbon :)
I even took off the decals of my disc wheel to see more of it.

Ha, sweet! A fellow Roam 1 member, welcome brother! I picked up the Canadian Roam 1 about two weeks ago. Loving it!

Stopped by the LBS to check out the Giant Roam... looks like a pretty well set up rig and my friend (one of the mechanics) both thought it would make for a pretty sweet rig for doing pretty much anything.

my newest bike in the stable. A craigslist find. Traded a trek 330 for it, one I didnt use. Had to put on tires,seat,5"rise bars, new cables, new rim strips and tubes. She glides, unlike any other bike I own.

Hey guys, I'm new to this thread and thought I'd post my bike up.

Attachment 222620

Did 60ks on it a few days ago, really durable bike and I have took it for light offroad... Single gear all the way =D

QBass 10-12-11 10:39 PM

This is the Walmart Mongoose Paver that I lightly modified a couple of years ago for fitness riding. It took me from 245+ lbs to 180, whereupon I built my carbon roadie. I still ride the Paver around town for errands or when I'm unsure of the road conditions or think I may want to do a bit of light off-roading... you know... hybrid stuff.

ciao_bella 10-13-11 10:30 PM

Hey VoyagerAl, I have that exact same bike, the Trek 730 Multitrack. I bought it in 1997, and I love it. It has such a smooth comfortable ride.
