tequilla joe, Nice bike! but with as long of a seatpost you have, I am going to venture a guess you could have jumped up a size or two and been more comfortable? Sweet bike though, Just looks weird with the seat a half mile off the bike
hehe, whatever makes ya comfy!

Hey Everyone, thanks for the comments. I really enjoy the bike, my wife just got it for me last week for my birthday.
Hey nymtber,
The Metropolis has a 57cm TT and with a 120mm stem which is ~20mm longer than my road bike. (56cm TT w/ 110mm stem) and ~30mm longer than my fixed gear (54cm TT w/120mm stem) The seatpost does look really long; maybe because the seat tube is very short. I also have fairly long legs for my frame so that may add to the visual too. I like alot of saddle / bar drop so it puts me in almost the same position as my road bike & fixed gear which for me is very comfy. I can also stretch out on the bar ends if i want to get more aero.
The egg beaters are great, stomp & go and has a lot of float. My fixed gear commuter & mountain bike has the same pedals.
EDIT: Road bike pics removed to not polute the Hybrid forum.

You are correct. A bigger frame would allow the rider to set this bike up as a comfort bike, but I'd venture a guess the rider chose to trade some comfort for performance.

Here's my 2009 Trek 7.2 FX. I am a big fan of the matte gold color. With the exception of panniers (or a trunk, or both...), I have finally made all of my required initial upgrades/purchases. 700x28 Specialized All-Condition tires, PB fenders (35mm width, nice trim fit on my 700x28s), Bontrager rack, Specialized Rival saddle (LBS had it in stock...may look at B-17 or a Terry Fly eventually), Specialized wireless comp, bar ends, Shimano M-520 SPD pedals, Cateye EL450 headlight, and a Blackburn Mars 3.0 taillight. The stock crank is cheap and fugly, so I might replace sometime.

I could have sworn I posted this pic already but I went through the thread and didn't find it. I got the balloon when we went to see "Up." Ah, how I miss when my panniers were clean and shiny.

I just have one question about the grips. How can I stick a rear view mirror in end of the left handle bar?

IMG_1857.jpg This is an '07 Marin Larkspur
IMG_1860.jpg with upgraded drive train, brakes and new wheels, tires.
I took it for my 20-mile loop and it's a much better ride than it was before upgrades.

Cruiser - just pull the plug out of the end, and screw a Mountain Myricle in there - works great.

Thanks Kung, In the previous photo my bike has a mirror into the left grip. My question is can a mirror be installed if I installed the vertical grips?

We were confused because we don't call 'em grips. The grips are the rubber handlebar padding only. The handlebar extensions, or bar ends will slide onto your handlebars no problem as long as there is room to slide your controls and grips in enough to make room. Remove the mirror first and put it back when everything else is installed.
Installed correctly, they would be more aptly called horizontal, not vertical 'grips'.

Man, I love red bikes and I love that bike PC placement, keep it protected in a crash better than where I have mine. I scratched the **** outta my screen crashing a couple weeks ago.
