my Giant Roam

:) I just completed what appears to be the final upgrade to this bike. The pedals were replaced with magnesium Wellgo platforms, I added a Bontrager wireless computer, Specialized bar ends, a Topeak saddle bag, and, after several trials and tribulations, a WTB Pure saddle. I think this will hold me for at least a year. By then I'll be ready for a Bad Boy.

Looks great, and no chain tensioner. Very neat.
*Older* frame with horiz dropouts ... only stamped, but good enough for me. This is the kind of frames hipsters want to make ss's out of .. http://www.slowtwitch.com/articles/i...n_dropouts.jpg |

Finally got it built up!
This bike is largely an experiment in geometry. If it works out for me and ends up being a long-term bike, that will be great. But, I'm looking at different aspects of the way it rides and if identify aspects of it that I don't like so much, I'll move on to another frame. My eventual goal is to narrow down exactly what I want and go custom on the frameset. I'm having some teething issues right now. For some reason the LBS put the grips on upside down, the handlebars were tilted too far back, the shifters are too close to the grips, the stem is not quite straight and the brakes started rubbing in the first 50 meters of riding it. The rear deraileur is also ghost shifting. I had the ghost shifting issue with my last bike and I'm not sure if it's my shifters or if I'm just too heavy (380 lbs) and am flexing the frame too much. I got all the ergonomics straightened out, the brakes readjusted and the last several minutes of riding the ghost shifting had stopped. I'm hoping it's just the parts settling in from being used for the very first time. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...ps570fc2fa.jpg |

Lotus Classique Road to Hybrid
Since converting my Trek 613 to riser bars, I have found riding much more enjoyable... especially for my neck and back. I have also decided to convert my Lotus Classique for a more upright riding position.
The road bars have been replaced with 50mm riser bars. I added Suntour Thumb Shifters and Tektro Eclipse brake levers. Basically the same setup as my Trek 613 conversion except not quite as high ( http://www.bikeforums.net/showthread...Hybrid/page195 ). The Lotus is equipped with a Suntour gen. 1 Cyclone GT, Sugino LP triple (46-36-26), and an IRD 14-28 freewheel. Newly built 700C Velocity Razor wheels with Dia-Compe ENE high profile hubs. http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j7...a.jpg~original http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j7...5.jpg~original |

That seat came on my 2013 7.2 FX. Red pedals were stock as well. That is a great deal.

Anyway, I really don't know much about the brand itself, you can go to the web site http://misobike.co.kr/ and under products click 3rd generation to see my bike, but the info is all in Korean. To my knowledge there's just the one small bike shop carrying it. I've seen about 3-4 of them in the wild (I've never seen the same colour as mine, just the white). The shop will service my bike free of charge as an added bonus and they will even come to my house to repair it if I have a broken chain or some other crippling problem free of charge. For reference, here's a picture of that first bike which I bought online and decided after one ride to get rid of it lol http://bikeforums.net/attachment.php...hmentid=319360 |
