Nice bike! Looks like it's in great condition! Nice job on the home made bag as well! Looks good on the bike.

Thanks! I test rode a few hybrids and this on seemed as smooth as the pricey models. Also seems much lighter than entry level bikes I had my eye on. Can't wait to get back on the road.

Nice bike and you are probably right on both counts. I'm guessing the new bikes you were riding were aluminum and probably had lower level components than the bike you bought. I was shocked to find that the lower level Trek FX bikes have FREEWHEELS on them!!!!

You ever thought of making these bags and selling them on Etsy? Looks great! :)

Your bike reminds me of a friend of mine's MTB. (Japan)
You and some of the other chaps may appreciate his set up...http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f2...sv9crlvtr.jpeghttp://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f2...sj4jyltlp.jpeghttp://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f2...slzmubyc9.jpeghttp://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f2...sef4kh7en.jpeg

My fitness bike. Trek FX 7.4. Mostly standard, just a couple of cages and a Spoon Charge Saddle.

I don't see a resemblance but it a nice bike and setup. :)

My son and I rode that trail numerous times this past summer. Great ride, just watch out for the rattle snakes! Yes, we did see one eyeing us as we rode by.

Ahh, just the lack of stickers on the frame and the colour reminded me if me mate's.

I love your bike, it's right up my alley. But where I'm confused is that I personally recognise it as a Rigid MTB. Regardless, it's fantastic.

These are, for all practical purposes, rigid 29ers. That said, the geometry is 'rigid-specific' (no jokes!), and is pretty well-oriented toward road/rough road use. I've been interested in them since they were 'announced', and have now been able to look over the SLR 1 version at my LBS -- they finally got one in. Really, really nice bike: I'm even more interested now, thinking about it as a supplement to or even replacement for my Sirrus.

Seriously go for it. If I didn't have my BBoy, that Giant would definitely be in my garage. My mate has a beautiful Rigid that I'm envious of.http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f2...psgmpglr0z.jpg

Thanks. The more I ride this bike, the more I like it. I spent more than I intended but I'm glad I did at this point. I did swap out the stock saddle when I picked up the bike, so what you see in my picture isn't exactly what comes on the bike.

I told the LBS specifically what trails I wanted to ride and the roads I planned to ride to get there and they felt this was a good choice. So far they've been right. I've ridden on blacktop, concrete, loose gravel roads, hard-packed dirt roads, dirt trails and grassy trails. So far, so good.

That 29er is very nice indeed! On the Giant ... yep, I'm leaning more/more toward getting one. The supplied racks are neither here nor there for me, though nice to have in reserve, but the bike as a whole is already nice 'n light stock and really does look suited to most of the riding I do/like to do -- especially given the flexibility for tire choice it offers.

Looking good, and good to see your comments JES600.
Please don't take offence, but may I ask if that saddle height represents your usual riding position? If so, it seems very low considering the size of the bike; are you getting full leg extension at the bottom of your pedal stroke? If not, just ignore me!
