That frame is too big for you stingx,... considering the number of bikes you have I don't know how you bought a bike that's too big.

Thanks for your concern. The bike fits very well. I get no wrist or knee pains and can ride for long stretches. I sold most of the other bikes. I rode some that were a bit too small. At 6 feet tall with a 31.5 inseam a large frame is just fine. I actually could rock a medium frame too as sometimes I find I am in the in-between size mold.

Anyway, as for this bike, I like it just fine as is.

I also swapped the absolutely brutal factory saddle for a slightly less brutal factory saddle that came stock with another bike, I had it kicking around surplus. It's OK with padded cycling shorts, and a lot better than the original one with cargo pants, but still far from perfect - I need to go saddle shopping this weekend and see what I come up with. Hopefully along with being ultra comfortable, something with red accents to keep my color coordinated theme intact!

I'm also waiting on an alloy handle-bar mount flashlight holder for my UltraFire flashlight that I ordered last week. After that, I'm done with upgrades for a while, at least that's what I promised my wife!

In any case, I'm was already really happy with my new ride last fall, and am even more thrilled with it with these upgrades this spring!

I suggest trying a Fabric Scoop
A "Fabric Scoop Elite Saddle" (Radius Black/Red). Not much padding but still the best saddle I've ever ridden with or without bike shorts.

Lovely machine but I may be a little bias toward the ole Roam. ;) I've found that small upgrades here and there make for big improvements overall with this bike. The frame is quite impressive after having it for over a year now. My Ergons sit at the same angle like yours, I thought I was weird but now I see it is the two of us,... ;)

Thanks! Agreed, I love the Roam, it's a solid, nimble bike that just rides like a dream.

I don't think the angle we have on the Ergons is odd, in fact I think it's spot-on what it's intended to be. The way I understand it, the "palm-paddles" are supposed to be adjusted upward to support your palms so that there is no angle at your wrist when gripping the bars in a normal riding position. Basically how I set mine was to leave the locks loose and ride the bike around the block tweaking them a bit forward and back until I felt they were holding my wrists perfectly straight with zero break angle. Then I locked them and went for a longer ride, and tweaked them a degree or two here and there on that ride and that's where they stay.

The bar ends are set the same way - when I have my hands on them, there is zero angle in my wrist.

That's the same way I've had the GP2's on my Sedona for over 5 years and they work great to relieve numbness and wrist pain.

1993 Trek 720 Multi-track
 

I picked this up on a recent road trip in Wisconsin. It's a Trek 720 Purple-to-Green fade. It must have sat in storage most of it's life as the tires that came on it were the original ones and they still had the little nubs on them and of course they were dry-rotted. It needed a little TLC to get it shifting perfect and the rims needed a little tweaking to get true. I had it running great with about 10 hours of labor. Of course there were some things that needed attention.

I replaced the tires with Schwalbe Marathon Mondials, tubes with Specialized tubes, seat with a Specialized Avatar Comp, seatpost with a EVO E-Force 26.8mm seatpost, brakes with Shimano BR-70 cantis and brake pads. I put on a few things too, a Knog headlight, a HotShot Tail light, an Elite Race Pro Bottle cage (in purple of course), a purple Camelbak bottle and Topeak Wedge pack.

I'm using it as a commuter and occasional neighborhood cruiser when I ride with my grandson. This thing will get plenty of use this season, I'm even trying to get a weekly Vintage ride together with a few friends.

I was hinting that drop bar bikes are rare in this thread. what is it? where do you ride it? what do you like a bout it? looks like my size, so it's even more interesting. 56 or 58 cm? how do you like those fenders? was thinking about something like those for my road bike cuz it has no clearance for regular fenders

The bike is a diamondback interval carbon size 58. I mostly use it for commuting and riding trails around my house. It is considered a hybrid being that it started with flat bars but I converted them over to drops being that it's more comfortable for me since I have wrist issues. It gives me more options for hand placement. The bike rides well with the 105 groupset and isn't very Hefty at 21lbs.

I tried an Interval. the wheel base is really long. It is basically a flat bar road bike. The long wheel base wasn't for me on a hybrid or my road bikes. LOL
Actually I went way back on Hybrids, because many of the new hybrids are not playful enough for me to enjoy.

Interval is a really nice bike though.

I have one that fades to dark blue, and it rides like a dream. I'll post a pic of it when I'm not using my phone to post.
I bought it at an auction and changed it up a bit to suit how i ride it. I swapped the handlebars out for some chrome flat mountain bike bars, added chopped down ergo grips and bar ends, a pair of 25mm road tires, and a topeak rack.
The guy who owns my LBS said he would put the stock wheels on any of his own bikes because they're built so well.
