[QUOTE=AlphaDogg;12576894]I got it exactly two weeks ago and I already put 175 miles on it. I was on spring break for the first week of me owning it, so I rode it 10-30 miles every day....
You've done well, and the area you ride looks nice.

Upgraded pics of my Schwinn Tourist. When I got it someone had put drops on it with the existing shifters, could not get used to the lack of space on the handlebars. The bike seems to handle better with flats vs drops. Future upgrade will be a different saddle and to get rid of the aero rims and put better rims on for commuting.

Nice upgrade, Elad!
I'd keep the wheels until they start giving you trouble. Deep profile rims are actually ac lot stronger than traditional box shaped cross-section. I've had god luck with low spoke count wheels with aero rims. You might be surprised as I was.

Okay ...
After a year of gradually morphing my bike from a cross hybrid to a weird kinda TT-bike I finally gave in to the calling and just tonight bought a second hand full carbon time trial frameset.
It even has carbon brakelevers and carbon bottlecages and an integrated carbon fully adjustable aero handlebar:
Using my racing wheelset for now and adding a nice enough groupset this should make a pretty nice bike for me to use for training.
Once this bike is up and running, my hybrid bike will be brought back to it's semi-upright cross state and will be used for touring with the wife and kids.
So I know this isn't actually a picture of a hybrid bike (as the title of the thread states) ... but it still could become one, so that counts

Hey all - First (and a half) posts - Attachments got away from me. First nice day in a row in Vermont. Just got 2 hybrids. Both Trek 7300's - hers is the WSD. Got the LBS to put on the racks, brake lights, fenders, and kick stands. Love seeing the pictures of the bikes. Building up stamina - we're late 50's and 60. Did 10 miles last Sunday. Looking forward, very much, to summer this year. Thanks for being here. Clifford in Champlain Valley, Vermont.

Thats a nice find there mate your going to enjoy that and as much as you were satisfied with your hybrid your going to find this much faster.
As much as I love my hybrid its not as fast as my Pinarello because its 1.2kg lighter and its mostly in the wheels which makes for blistering acceleration and hill climbing ability plus every bearing is fully ceramic and tubular tires with sram force make for a magic carpet silent ride.
So I think after your've ridden your new bike you'll never look back at your hybrid as a speed bike. Good one mate
"O" and I nearly got some carbon TT bars on ebay but missed out but there'll be more.

I'm planning on putting an ultegra group on this frame and so it should come in at 8-9 kilo's i guess.
In flat timetrials the weight of the bike isn't important enough to put dura ace or crazy $500 carbon cranks on it.
The frame is great so I can still upgrade if I would ever actually race or something like that.
Good luck finding some TT-clipon bar ... it's great stuff and makes for a faster and more relaxed ride ... once you get used to them you'll probably start using them for most of the ride as I do.
I'm on the lookout for some bargain second hand nice ceramic bearings carbon rims tt-wheelset (but I have time)

Quick question, do a lot of you guys use backpacks? I don't think i want to put racks etc on the bike yet, but i'd like to carry some things with me (food, tools, book etc). I like the "slimness" of some of the Camelbak packs, but i'd doubt if I would ever use the water bladder. I'm OK with having a bit of weight on my back from the backpack. Thoughts?

Update:
My new bike, on the kitchen table, being fitted out with it's new components:
Tadaam ... it's a bike:
Should find myself some nice barend shifters now and some brake cables and bartape.
I'm going to keep the adjustable stem that I got with it for a while until I find my preferred position.
