My utopia

My flower adorned utopia. I had the shop replace the stem for one with a little more rise and swap the evoke 1 saddle for a nebula plus. I am contemplating ergon grips and maybe some skinnier tires in the future.

That's a nice bike there! I like how the orange flowers complement the orange stripes and make it look a bit sweet but still tough and not too girly

Thanks! I was thrilled to find the reflective stickers to match on amazon. I really do love the bike, it has made cycling fun for me all over again.

You don't like the LT3s on there? I love the LT3s on my Utopia. I'm definitely going to buy another set of them when they wear out. They're pretty fast rolling and they have enough tread for trail use. I feel they complement the bike perfectly.

No, I like them just fine and yes they are pretty fast rolling but I have pretty much abandoned my road bike at this point. I am hoping to do at least a metric century later this summer and if I decide to do it on the Utopia I might want something thinner, maybe some 32s or even 28s. So far I have only been doing 12-20 mile rides on her and the LT3s have been totally fine for that. I did a 20 mile ride on all crushed stone trail my first ride and it they were perfect.

I regularly do 40-60 mile rides with the LT3s and I don't really have any issues with them. My rides consist of a pretty good mix of different types of terrain. Well, I'd say they consist of about 65% road and 35% everything else. My goal by the end of this summer is to be able to do a century on my Utopia. Right now, my asthma limits me to about 65 miles before I feel the need for an inhaler, which I don't think is really all that bad. I don't really want to start pushing myself really hard and get 50 miles out and realize I have to turn around and come back another 50 miles while attempting to breathe.

Beg him to post in the "In the Dark" thread, like I did to you.

"Oh my gosh!!!! I have some competition. d(^.^)" he said while watching the guy who just passed him disappear into the distance.

I haven't got a decent up-to-date pic so if the rain stops for a while tomorrow (we are in the rainy season now in Japan) I'll take one and load it.

My old Trek 7500... has been a faithful companion for 5 years and has seens tens of thousands of trouble free km and has done it all... touring, commuting, hauling, and playing on the trails... and damn she is looking good.

Swapped out the XTR brakes, shifters and cantis for some Avid 7.0 levers and 3.0 v brakes and Kool Stops... the ony way this bike would stop faster is if you ran it into a wall.

8 speed rapid fire for the rear and a Suntour half ratchet for the front... as my bikes new owner (and a good friend) cannot use her left hand very well and needed a lever shifter... which works better anyways.

Replaced the Mavic touring wheels with some nice Formula / Alex wheels that have been hand tuned and are 5 by 5... should give her no trouble as she is a little bit of a thing but she does want to commute, tour, and explore the river valley.

She was a good bike... maybe one of the best I have ever owned... and now she will go on to make someone else really happy. She has been away on an extended 6 week test drive and I also mounted a new Terry Liberator X saddle for the new girl.

We went on our last commute this morning and as always... was so very pleased with how nicely this bike runs out.

Guess I am now hybrid-less.

Took these today. I wish I could capture the paint on this bike. When you see it in the sun, the most beautiful green and red metal "flecks" appear. I believe Cannondale used a Dupont paint on it.

Thankyou.
Sadly the cables aren't reflective. They are jagwire shifter cables. (cheap cheap cheap)

I just got an iPhone mount to mount my iPhone 3GS on my hybrid. There is ample clearance on the camera of the phone to record video of my rides..

In portrait mode:

In landscape mode:

The bike was $399. The iPhone was $99 (the price dropped to $49 about 60 days after I purchased it, way outside of the return window )

Your bike looks snappy, but I'd be concerned with the constant jarring the phone's going to get mounted to a rigid frame. (just me the worry wort)
